Over the President’s Day weekend my dad decided to go on a short excursion up the Sonoma Coast of California, north of San Francisco and Marin. Despite being a rather isolated region, the rampant wealth of both money and good taste was not absent here. Plenty of rare and expensive cars were seen, some of which I was able to catch on camera.
What is this? I can’t decide if it’s British or Italian, or both as the case may be.
Battered Vehicross sporting no rear bumper or cladding found at an isolated hiking spot.
Plymouth Arrow at our cabin site (our Ody is in the upper left). When was the last time you saw one of these?
Arrow dwarfed by modern Q5.
Volvo Amazon Estate at Fort Ross, CA.
Early Jag E-Type (or a replica) also seen at Fort Ross, CA.
Passing 458 Italia(?) convertible/targa on Hwy 1.
Eagle Premier in front of the E60 Bimmer. Also a rare sight, although you can consistently find this one parked in the same spot in San Francisco’s Richmond District.
One of many Sportcrosses spotted in SF. Not really rare around here.
Did not know that these behemoths...
...come with wheels from Enkei. (left imprint, right one is the JWL stamp) Sorry about horrible iPotato zoom.
As with every trip, there are the ones that get away. This time this group included a Series I Alfa Spider, a ‘90's Bentley Brooklands/Turbo R (couldn’t discern from a distance), a Ferrari 599, and a Murciélago (might have been an SV because awkward body kit and wing.) So, what do you think of this odd menagerie of wild automobiles?

Heh, I live in that part of SF and I spotted that Eagle Premier sometime last week on my commute. Had the same “huh, don’t see one of those everyday...” thought.

I love that part of...the world, really.
I’ve probably had my best vacations in SFO/Marin/Sonoma. Its a joy to drive there :)
That's gonna leave a mark!

Must be CA. It would take me a month to find that many picture worthy cars. All I see is SUVs and and Camrys.

It is simply amazingly beautiful around there with the luscious meadows and dramatic cliffs, and with all the money and taste around here (as I said above) it’s easy to see some awesome and more esoteric cars which just augment the overall experience.

Well I was surprised as well, but given the cash and taste around this area, especially North Bay, I probably shouldn’t have been, although the official vehicle of the South Bay is evidently the Tesla Model S.

I’ve lived in San Francisco for a few years now, and I think people here drive eccentric cars to make up for the fact that their apartment is really small.

That first car is a Triumph Italia. It was designed by an Italian and built in Naples, but has Triumph running gear and mechanicals, so it’s both Italian and British.

Awesome! Thank you so much for the clarification! See, I was convinced the body at least was Italian because the front shares cues with the Pininfarina Lancia Flaminia and Pug 404, but the rest of the car seemed just a bit off...
